Terms of Use
Last updated: 31 October 2026 · Effective for all use of taxrefit.com
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account or using any part of TaxRefit (taxrefit.com), including the Q&A platform, Judgments Library, Tax Calculator, Professional Directory, Institutions Directory, or Student Community, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to register an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and maintain only one account per person. Professional accounts must provide a genuine, currently valid statutory registration number (e.g. ICAI, ICSI, Bar Council, GSTP, ITP). Student accounts must provide a genuine field of study and institutional affiliation.
3. The Q&A Platform Is Not Professional Advice
Questions and answers published on TaxRefit are for general educational and informational purposes. Submitting or answering a question on TaxRefit does not create a chartered accountant-client, company secretary-client, advocate-client, or any other professional engagement or fiduciary relationship between you and any professional, or between you and TaxRefit. A formal professional engagement, if any, is a separate matter arranged directly between you and the professional through our Engagement Request feature or otherwise, entirely outside TaxRefit's platform and responsibility.
4. Verified Professional Directory
TaxRefit independently checks a professional's statutory registration number before their profile is marked verified and made public. This verification confirms registration status only — it is not an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of the quality, accuracy, timeliness, or outcome of any advice, service, or engagement provided by that professional. Any dispute arising from a professional engagement is solely between you and that professional.
5. Content Standards & Editorial Review
All publicly visible content — questions, answers, judgment summaries, and Student Community posts and replies — is reviewed by our admin/editorial team before publishing, and is automatically screened to reduce personal information before it goes live. This review process reduces but does not eliminate risk; you must not include another person's personal or identifying details in anything you submit.
You agree not to post content that is:
- irrelevant or off-topic to the community, topic, or question it's posted under;
- unethical, defamatory, or self-promotional outside permitted channels;
- inappropriate or sexual in nature, including anything involving minors — this category is removed immediately on the first report, pending moderator review, and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to edit, reject, remove, or decline to publish any content, and to suspend or terminate any account, for violation of these standards or for any other reason we consider necessary to protect the platform or its users.
6. Intellectual Property
Judgment summaries on TaxRefit are original editorial work prepared from publicly available court records and orders; the underlying judgments themselves remain in the public domain. TaxRefit's platform design, branding, original written content, and software are owned by TaxRefit and may not be reproduced or redistributed without permission. Content you submit (questions, answers, community posts) remains yours, but by posting it you grant TaxRefit a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, display, and moderate it on the platform.
7. Account Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, repeated or severe content violations, fraudulent registration details (including a false statutory registration number), or misuse of the reporting system. You may stop using TaxRefit at any time; to request deletion of your account and data, use our Data Rights Request form.
8. Limitation of Liability
TaxRefit is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaxRefit and its team are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on content published on the platform, from the conduct of any user or professional, or from any professional engagement arranged outside the platform. See our Disclaimer for more on the nature of our content.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our platform or in applicable law. Continued use of TaxRefit after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of TaxRefit shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
