How TaxRefit Works

Every part of TaxRefit is built around one rule: content goes through review before it's published. Here's how each part of the platform actually works.

Asking & Answering a Tax Question

  1. 1Sign up with your email (verified by a one-time code) and ask a question under the relevant tax topic — phrased generically, without personal identifying details.
  2. 2A verified professional in a matching category (CA, CS, Advocate, GSTP, ITP, Tax-Business Consultant, or Financial Consultant) can answer.
  3. 3Every answer is reviewed by our admin team — and screened to catch personal information — before it's published, so what you read is checked, not raw and unmoderated.
  4. 4Once published, the question and answer are visible to everyone browsing Tax & GST Q&A — free, no account required to read.

Joining as a Verified Professional

  1. 1Register with your category and statutory registration number — ICAI membership, ICSI membership, Bar Council enrolment, or GSTP/ITP registration.
  2. 2You can start answering questions in your own category right away, even while verification is pending — your answers still go through the same editorial review as everyone else's.
  3. 3Our team independently verifies your registration details before your public profile goes live.
  4. 4Once verified, you get a public profile with an SEO-friendly URL, your published answers are credited to you by name, and readers can request a direct engagement with you.

TaxRefit never charges for profile visibility or search ranking.

Joining as a Student

  1. 1Register with your field of study — CA, CS, CMA, Global Finance & Accounting, Legal Studies, or Commerce & Business Management — and verify your email.
  2. 2Once your student status is verified, you get access to the private Student Community — invisible to anyone except verified students.
  3. 3Post and reply within communities organised by tax topic or field of study, vote on posts, and tag discussions to your institution — every post is reviewed before it's visible to others.
  4. 4Anything irrelevant, unethical, or inappropriate can be reported — inappropriate content is taken down immediately on the first report, pending moderator review.

Judgments Library

Our editorial team writes original summaries of real Supreme Court, High Court, and Tribunal judgments and orders. Each entry carries both the Date of Judgment (the court's own decision date) and a Publish Date (when TaxRefit put it live), and goes through review before publishing.

Tax Calculator

Select which of your income sources apply — Salaried Employee, Business/Professional, Capital Gains/Trading, Rental Income — and enter the relevant details. The calculator estimates your liability for planning purposes; it isn't a substitute for filing with a qualified professional.
